FAQs
1. What is the working principle of a fire point apparatus?
The apparatus heats the petroleum sample gradually using an electric heater and applies a test flame via an Oil or Gas Test Jet at intervals to determine the temperature at which the liquid ignites and sustains burning.
2. How is fire point testing performed using this equipment?
The sample is placed in the closed cup, heated using a round electric heater, and a test flame is applied periodically until the flash or fire point is reached, complying with IP 34, ASTM D-93, and IS 1448 standards.
3. What is the maximum heating capacity of the tester?
The apparatus supports testing in the temperature range of above 70°C to below 300°C, operating on 220 Volts, 50 cycles AC circuits.
4. Is this equipment suitable for industrial laboratories?
Yes, it complies with IP 34, ASTM D-93, and IS 1448 international standards and is available in multiple models including digital temperature indicator variants, making it fully suitable for industrial and research laboratories.
5. What accessories are included with this apparatus?
The apparatus includes an Oil/Gas Test Jet flame device, stirrer with flexible shaft, dome-shaped metal top air bath, insulated cup handle with locking arrangement, and a separate temperature regulator for complete ready-to-use operation.
