FAQs

1. What is the ring and ball method in softening point testing?

The ring and ball method determines the softening point by measuring the temperature at which a bituminous material becomes soft enough to allow a steel ball of specific dimensions to fall a required distance under controlled test conditions.

The apparatus is specifically designed for testing bituminous materials, including bitumen and asphalt, as per IP 58 and IS 1205-1958 specifications.

The product description does not specify an exact temperature range. Kindly refer to the product datasheet or reach out to our team for detailed temperature specifications.

The standard model features a hand stirrer for manual operation. For automatic heating and temperature control options, kindly refer to our Automatic Ring and Ball Apparatus available in our product range.

Yes, the Ring and Ball Apparatus is specifically designed for determining the softening point of bitumen and asphalt materials as per IP 58 and IS 1205-1958, making it ideal for bituminous material quality testing.
